Bathed in Moonlight Once More

My boyfriend’s first love is back.

He can’t give up my privileged lifestyle,

while rekindling his old flame with the woman he never got over.

I waved it off, hardly upset at all.

After all, he was only a stand-in I’d picked out.

When I revealed that I was the heir to a wealthy family

and showed up with my childhood friend on my arm, that gold-digging man finally realized what he’d lost

and begged me on his knees to take him back.
