The Farmer Girl Fights Back, and Her Rugged Husband Spoils Her

Yan Xia transmigrates as a peasant girl in ancient times. Above her is a beautiful, voluptuous older sister whose hand in marriage is so sought after that suitors have worn down the threshold. Her family dotes on her, while plain-looking Yan Xia is being forced to marry a widower twenty years her senior. The two sisters are like opposites, and outsiders all mock Yan Xia, saying that if she doesn't marry the widower, she'll be an old maid for the rest of her life. Yan Xia throws a fit and drives the old widower away, breaks off the engagement, then turns around and marries Gu Yun, the village's notorious wastrel. In his previous life, Gu Yun lost his parents young, was reckless in his youth, and trusted the wrong people. By the age of thirty, he had taken the blame for someone else and died in prison. Reborn into a new life, he turns over a new leaf, works hard, and vows to become a decent young man. At the same time, out of a burst of kindness, he wants to save Yan Xia, whose previous life was full of misfortune. “You can't marry that widower. He'll beat you to death. You should find a way to call off the engagement,” Gu Yun says earnestly as he stands before the steaming stove. Yan Xia looks up at him, keeping her expression neutral. “Then you can marry me.” “...What?” Gu Yun. The villagers discover that after getting married, Gu Yun the wastrel has become completely henpecked. The once fierce, burly butcher has turned into the most devoted husband in the village. Perhaps it's because he has a formidable wife at home? After they marry, Gu Yun discovers that Yan Xia is a little cute, a little crafty, and maybe a little fond of him too.
