Fleeing Famine: The Lucky Baby Descends from Heaven and Brings Fortune to the Whole Family

[The whole family’s darling + lucky little treasure + koi luck + farming + feel-good story]

On the road fleeing famine, the Yu family had yet again welcomed a baby girl, much to everyone’s dismay. Yu Lili never expected that all it would take was a nap for her to become the Yu family’s little bundle of joy, and a decidedly unloved one at that.

Grandma Yu: “Granddaughter, this is just your fate. Make it through each day as it comes.”

Second Uncle Yu’s wife: “She’s just a girl. If she keeps crying, I’ll toss her in the mountains for the wolves.”

Yu Lili pouted. Fine, then. She’d show them what this lucky koi could do.

Before long, the Yu family’s daily life had become...

Eldest Uncle Yu: “I caught a whole nest of rabbits...”

Second Uncle Yu: “The fish in the river keep leaping right into my arms...”

Even the Yu family’s daughters-in-law started finding piles of wild chicken eggs and mushrooms in the mountains...

Grandpa Yu and Grandma Yu competed to hold their little granddaughter, grinning so widely their eyes disappeared.

Yu Lili thought: Stay calm, stay calm. The good days are still ahead.
