A Little Flirt in His Arms

Nineteen-year-old Lin Yi is gifted and clever, the envy of everyone around her. But after an accident clips her wings, she is forced to transfer schools, where she meets a boy. She thinks he is a good-for-nothing who gets into fights and treats life as if it means nothing. He thinks she is affected and unreasonable, and does his best to avoid her. After PE, Lin Yi returns to the classroom and is surprised to find Lu Huaizheng pretending to read. She silently walks to her seat, then steals a glance at him without changing her expression. The Art of Cicada and Motorcycle... Repair? What kind of book is that? While wondering how you could repair a motorcycle with a cicada, Lu Huaizheng glances at her. “Be careful on your way home tonight.” “Hm? Aren’t you coming with me?” “No, I have something important to do.” “Oh, going to fix a motorcycle?” Lin Yi swears she didn’t mean to say it. The words just slipped out before she could stop them. She turns to look at Lu Huaizheng, who is staring at her with an expression that clearly says, What is wrong with you? To apologize, she holds out the ice cream in her hand, which is nearly melted, and smiles awkwardly. “How about sharing it with your cicada?” Lu Huaizheng shuts his book, looking like he wants to laugh and be angry at the same time. He lifts his chin and clears his throat twice, then says after a moment, “You’d better stop talking.” “Okay.” Lin Yi obediently turns around without another word and takes a bite of her ice cream.
