After I finished writing the novel, I printed hard copies for a few friends. Yesterday I asked one of them if she had read my novel. She went back last night and spent a few hours browsing it, but the plot was so-so. When I chatted with her this morning, she felt a little ashamed and felt that she had not done a good job. Alas, I am also reflecting on whether it is too difficult to be my friend!

I think writing is first of all something that pleases oneself and is an expression of personal aesthetics.

I just filled out a questionnaire. Among the options for how to obtain new books, there is no option to go to a physical bookstore or library to find new books, which makes me feel a little sad. Are brick-and-mortar bookstores and libraries no longer the way people get new books? But I still like it and still insist on it.
