After Getting the Wicked Supporting Actress Script, I Became a Star

Xu Qingwan is practically the poster child for a scandal-ridden celebrity. She reached the top the moment she debuted, leaving other entertainers to say, “We wouldn’t dare compete! Sister Xu is way out of our league!” Buying her way onto a production, stealing billing spots, pressuring directors to give her more scenes, rigging awards, acting like a diva, snatching endorsements… She was soon buried in scandals, and gossip about Xu Qingwan became the entertainment industry’s favorite pastime. Every day, people asked: Has Xu Qingwan’s career crashed yet? Will it crash tomorrow? Let’s sing her “Liang Liang” in advance. The entertainment industry’s top-tier star groups were quick to tag her, too. Genius director: “Her character is rotten. She should have been blacklisted ages ago.” Popular best actor: “Acting with her would lower my value.” Variety show genius: “This person has no imagination whatsoever. I refuse to work with her.” Online troll: “With a reputation like yours, Xu Qingwan, why don’t you just quit the industry?” But quitting was never an option. She was here to show them what she could really do! The TV drama starring Xu Qingwan became a hit. She brought a no-budget variety show back from the brink, and helped an unknown actor win an award for Best Actor. She proved through her talent that she wasn’t a box-office poison, but a box-office powerhouse! Everyone waited for her to leave show business, but instead, she became a legend. Years later, the director was fawning over her. “Darling, I designed this movie especially for you. Please consider taking the role.” The best actor had become a hypocrite. “I’ve worked with many actresses, but only her acting has ever truly amazed me.” The variety show producer was shamelessly persistent. “Wanwan, when will you come on my show? The center spot will always be yours.” Xu Qingwan smiled faintly. “If you want to work with me, I’ll have to ask my husband.” There was a man who had stood behind her from beginning to end, giving her the strength to reach a world as wide as the sky and sea.
