A Song of Ning Shu

{Palace and household intrigue + shop management + white-lotus heroine's daily life} That year, the peach blossoms were in full bloom. We went boating together on the lake, and time seemed peaceful and sweet. You were a prince, born to the emperor. I was merely a pawn in the hands of the prince who ruled the court. You promised thirteen cities in exchange for a brief taste of freedom, and I came to you in a thousand miles of wedding finery, ready to be your match. But in the end, we never even had a proper wedding. I accompanied you on campaigns across the borders. Yet your heart belonged to someone else. That year, you said, “The years are serene, and nothing in the world compares to Jingjing. Whatever may come, my only wish is for you to be well.” The position of empress had been promised to me. If you want to take it back, don't blame me for forgetting our partnership. But sweet words were too tempting. The peach blossoms were red and the willows green, yet that young man from long ago was gone forever. I never expected much from love. I only believe that having money and power is the right way to live. “The biggest mistake I ever made was believing you and entering the palace...” [Happy ending] But... sometimes, being able to bask in the sunlight again is such a rare luxury.
