She Leapt from the Reincarnation Platform, and the Emperor Regretted It

Hundreds, even thousands of years ago, the soul Nishang accidentally arrived in the underworld and was unable to reincarnate. The Eastern Peak Emperor came to her rescue, and she fell in love with him at first sight.

She never imagined that after refusing reincarnation for centuries, staying behind to run a shop on the Yellow Springs Road and cultivate immortality, all she would get in return was his wedding to a princess of the Celestial Clan. To make matters worse, he specifically asked her to arrange the wedding banquet herself.

Only then did Nishang finally understand that no matter how hard she tried, she would never find a place in the Eastern Peak Emperor’s heart. His heart was as hard as stone. He simply wanted a woman worthy of his station.

She did not regret falling in love with a god, but pitied herself for loving him so stubbornly and enduring so much mockery and humiliation.

Even when she was injured while cultivating and had only one breath left, she still could not see the Eastern Peak Emperor.

His status was too lofty, a peak she could never climb; his heart was cold and hard, and it utterly shattered Nishang’s.

Heartbroken, Nishang crossed the River of Oblivion and walked over the Bridge of Helplessness, forgetting the love of her past life. She drank Granny Meng’s soup and returned to the mortal world.

When the Eastern Peak Emperor saw Nishang flirting with a mortal, with someone else filling her eyes and heart, he grew furious. At last, the Eastern Peak Emperor, who knew nothing of love, tried to discover what it meant to love. He would even exhaust his cultivation to reach Nishang’s side.

He resorted to every trick in the book, and found it easy to pretend to be frail and ill. When he learned Nishang was going to marry someone else, he forcibly took her to the underworld so she would remember her feelings for him.

Nishang: You’re a revered god, and I’m a ghost. We’re not suited to each other.

The Emperor: I think we’re a perfect match.

Nishang: I don’t love you anymore. I love someone else!

The Emperor: First, bear me an heir. Then I’ll consider it.
