A Little Hamster Opens a Restaurant in the 1980S Apocalypse

Lin Xiaobai is a little hamster spirit in the late apocalypse. While out scavenging to stock up on supplies, she is unlucky enough to get bitten by a zombie. When she wakes up, she has become the spoiled younger sister-in-law in a period novel! The original younger sister-in-law, the only daughter in the family, had offended all three of her sisters-in-law and even jumped into a river for the male lead, throwing the whole household into chaos. As a hamster spirit, Lin Xiaobai has no interest in the male lead. She just wants to hoard supplies and eat delicious food. As it happens, the state-run restaurant needs someone to wash vegetables. After working there for a few days, she pesters the chef until he takes her on as an apprentice. Her daily routine is all about stocking up and figuring out how to make food taste even better. The three sisters-in-law notice that their younger sister-in-law has changed and huddle together to whisper. Is she secretly plotting something big? Lin Xiaobai simply carries the grain, meat, and eggs she has stored up back home and divides them equally among her sisters-in-law. The sisters-in-law are overjoyed with all the food and go around telling everyone how capable their younger sister-in-law is! Qin Weining, the city's youngest professor, comes to eat at the state-run restaurant and takes one look at the cook, Lin Xiaobai, and falls for her. Everyone says Lin Xiaobai is no match for Professor Qin and that their marriage could never happen. The very next day, the old master of the Qin family personally arrives at her door with betrothal gifts to ask for her hand.
