The Story of Ji Feo Village

On the lower reaches of the Huaihe River, beside Yabi Lake, there is Ji Feo Village. The flamboyant Ji Feo Village has no foundation. It is just a field surrounded by the bottom of Duckbill Lake. Some people moved here and there. Pheasants often appear in the fields. Colorful pheasant feathers can always be seen in the grass. The name of Ji Feo Village gradually spread. The first people to settle in this remote village were some poor people who had no power, money, or culture and were fleeing the war. They built adobe walls and thatched roofs in the village and lived on a few acres of thin fields. There are always descendants who are unwilling to live in a corner and think of various ways to make some big names in this small village. After many years of ups and downs, a once-in-a-century flood washed away the river embankment in Ji Feo Village. All the roads and houses here disappeared and turned into a vast expanse of water. The village disappeared and the villagers dispersed. Since then, there have been more stories about the women and men of Jifeo Village, both true and false, in the world.
