The Flute's Distant Notes in the Bright Moonlight of Xizhou

An original-setting fantasy romance, told as a serious love story between a man and a woman. Xiao Dingyuan is a heaven-blessed prodigy with a string of military victories to his name. Just three days after being made Marquis of Anxi, he gets stripped of his title for causing trouble and sent to Xizhou on a secret mission. The former Marquis of Anxi travels deep into the desert with his childhood friend, a senior intelligence officer of the Great Liang, living under assumed names. He lets loose while carrying out covert assassination missions, and happens upon the beautiful, willful, fair-skinned and sweet-natured Princess of Kucha, who sometimes plays dumb. They make a terrible first impression on each other, despise one another, and use each other for their own ends. The ambitious Crown Prince of Dayuan allies himself with a demon king, hoping to build an empire. To achieve his goal, he pretends to arrange a marriage with the Princess of Kucha, drawing her into a fiery and icy ordeal. The three transmigrate across the Central Asian plateau and fall through a rift in space above a frozen lake on the snowfield. The general discovers he has become the empire's dictator, while the amnesiac princess faces the destruction of her country and people. She tries to offer herself to him in exchange for her small kingdom's independence. “The princess is getting more and more shameless,” Xiao Dingyuan says, exasperated. “Could His Majesty be a pervert?” the princess wonders more and more often. In the end, these two who have fallen for each other must face one another on the battlefield for the greater good. The only way to make amends for losing your head is to shed blood. After they return from another world and another time to Xizhou, will every prophecy come to pass once more?
