Portable Space: The Divine Doctor’s Little Farm Girl

Dusk. In Peony Village, Daxing Town, Xize County, Great Chu, cooking smoke curled from the rooftops of every home. Xize County lay in Great Chu's western frontier, bordering the land of the Rong and Di. War raged without end, and the people suffered terribly. Peony Village, within Daxing Town's jurisdiction, was especially impoverished. More than fifty families lived there, and aside from the wealthiest family, the Yan family, everyone else had to scrimp and save just to get by. At that moment, smoke rose and the aroma of food filled the Yan family's spacious, bright kitchen in their grand mansion of gray brick and red roof tiles. Two maids and an older servant bustled about, preparing a meal for their masters.
