The Big Shot Got Turned Away Again

[Blurb One] Bian Yu had just returned from being turned away by Ji Zi. He parked his car in the lot, and before he could even take a step, someone punched him. Jiang Ge was furious, beating him mercilessly. “I told you to look after her! Is this how you look after her? Huh?” “I treated you like a brother, and you went after my niece?” Bian Yu dropped to the ground, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, and gave a roguish, carefree chuckle. Jiang Ge's anger, which had just begun to subside, flared up again. “Did I not hit you hard enough? How dare you laugh!” Bian Yu's smile faded. “No. I just think I took a pretty undeserved beating.” He and Ji Zi weren't even officially a thing yet. “But since I've already taken this beating, I might as well make the accusation stick.” [Blurb Two] At the age when a girl fills her days with poetry, Ji Zi fell for Bian Yu, a friend of her uncle's. To get him to notice her, Ji Zi studied as hard as she could, earning an offer from a university abroad and becoming his junior. Thanks to her uncle, she also ended up sharing a home with him in a foreign country. After studying the stars one night, Ji Zi decided the time was right. Everything was in place, and all that remained was to take the final hundred steps. She boldly laid her feelings bare before him. But just like that, her golden dream turned to dust, and they went their separate ways. Years later, Ji Zi had returned to her comfort zone and was thriving. The engagement her family had arranged for her was moving ahead as planned. Someone finally lost his composure. He pulled her away from a party, kissed her relentlessly, and pleaded, “Xiao Zi, let's start over.”
