You Are Both the Long Night and the Lights

Some people believe love is sex, marriage, a kiss at six in the morning, or a house full of children. Maybe it is... But do you know what I think? I think love is reaching out to touch someone, then pulling your hand back. Every time I say I miss you, I have already held myself back countless times. Every confession I make is one hundred thousand percent sincere. This sincerity is no ordinary phrase, no scripted line. It is a solemn promise made after careful thought: I have decided to spend my life by your side, with you as the only one.
