Can the Prime Minister Become Emperor?

Every day, the emperor worried about how to lure his conscientious prime minister onto the throne. He let the prime minister manage state affairs ahead of time, looked after his physical and mental well-being, and sent him out to gain experience in the provinces. Prime Minister: Does His Majesty even consider me a friend? Emperor: Of course. I treat you especially well, and if you need it, I can treat you even better. A few months later, the prime minister said, “I don’t want to be your friend.” Yet the very next day, the emperor banished him to a remote mountain region. More than half a year passed before the prime minister was summoned back. The emperor even dragged him off for a drink. “Prime Minister, I treat you especially well. I truly do.” The next day, the prime minister discovered that the emperor had changed sex, and he himself had changed status. When the new emperor set out to settle the score, he was told, “The princess has slipped away.”
