She Rose to Fame After Marrying the Movie Emperor

Actor Lu Qirong is mired in scandal. To restore his reputation, he picks an unknown nobody from his company and fake-marries her. Xia Shihuan, a dance performer in an obscure girl group, is chosen by her manager. From then on, she and the actor are tied together. The night their marriage is announced, they shoot straight to the top of the trending charts, but not a single fan believes the couple is really in love. Everyone says Xia Shihuan is just a tool Lu is using to take the heat off himself, while Lu is a stepping-stone Xia is using to climb the ladder. The most unpopular couple in showbiz has haters betting every day on when they’ll divorce. Then a video of them kissing passionately at their wedding is released. Netizens scoff: “It’s so obviously staged. Girl-group members really can’t act. Is it too much to ask them to put some effort into pretending to be in love?” Actor Lu flies into a rage on set to defend his beloved. Netizens: “There he goes, cultivating his devoted-lover image again. We’re not buying it.” A year later, the media snap photos of Xia Shihuan with a noticeable baby bump. The netizens still don’t believe it: “See? Their divorce is just around the corner. She’s already pregnant with someone else’s kid.” It isn’t until their little bun grows up and the family of three goes on an outing that netizens notice the little one looks just like Lu Qirong, as if they were carved from the same mold. The whole world is stunned: This couple is for real!
