The Fourth Miss of the Censor's Family

Fourth Miss is virtuous and gracious, a model young lady. Unfortunately, her father is eccentric, too lazy to lift a finger and unable to earn a living or support the family. Her mother cares only for romance and poetry, too gentle and tender to manage the accounts or handle social obligations. If the sisters in this family do not start going out and meeting people, they will end up unmarried and left on the shelf. After much reflection, Fourth Miss finally resolves to make something of herself. With one hand, she tends flowers with skill; with the other, she runs a business to earn her dowry. She can talk at length about the court's changing tides, and deliver a verdict on any career's prospects. A woman should stand on her own two feet, and soon the matchmakers are flocking to her door. Before long, the Shi family's daughters are hot commodities, with suitors lined up at the threshold. Just as the family prospers and her marriage prospects look bright, one day the sharp and capable Fourth Miss loses her memory. Xu Kun: Shi Jie, your amnesia is truly something else. You remember everything, even my faults, yet somehow you can't recall a single good thing about me! Imagine, a grown man like me, driven nearly to a breakdown by an amnesiac heroine. Do you think this is easy for me? If we don't get married soon, my parents are going to lose patience! Life in ancient times is hard, and dangerous beasts lie ahead. Fourth Miss, shouldn't you run?
