Better Than Warm Sunshine, Like the Passing Years

(Sweet at first, angsty later ✖️ down-to-earth ✖️ heartbreak after heartbreak) Einstein said, “God does not play dice.” Bohr retorted, “Don't concern yourself with what God can do.” The probability of a quantum appearing at a certain location is just that: a probability. When you don't observe a quantum, it exists in a superposition. When you do observe it, its wave function collapses to a single point, and it instantly becomes an eigenstate. At that moment, the quantum behaves like a particle. Perhaps in another parallel universe, Lin Jin's life is completely different: her parents get along, she's spoiled but warmhearted, she excels in her studies, and everything goes smoothly for her. But in this world, where the quantum has finally collapsed, even being alive and wishing you were dead is an impossible luxury. The year she met Gu Ze, she was in the prime of her youth, like a moth finding a warm light in the cold, dark night. “Gu Ze, I once loved you with all the sincerity and purity in my heart.” But the nightmare had only just begun. “You took away every reason I had to go on living. If I'd known things would end this way, I would rather never have met you.” “For all the pain you've inflicted on me, even if I die and go to hell, I'll return as a vengeful ghost.” You really are all... better off dead.
