The Arrogant Marquis Forces a Marriage

Third Master Zhao appears gentle and refined, but in truth he is a beast in fine clothes, a wolf in human skin. She is a maid in his household. She has worked diligently in the kitchen since childhood, and with just one year left before she can leave the manor and marry, she never expected her peaceful life to be turned upside down during that final year. It is all because of Third Master Zhao, a vain, selfish, domineering, and rude man. At first, he mistakenly thinks she admires him and assumes she is a vain social climber who wants to marry into wealth, so he has no fondness for the little maid. But when he finally develops feelings for her and decides to give her a chance, she flatly refuses. He thinks she is just playing hard to get, grabs her chin, and warns her harshly, “Not a chance!” “You’ll never escape my grasp in this lifetime!” [Sweet romance, domineering devotion, both protagonists are romantically inexperienced]
