The Hundred Demon Manual

Taoyao, a ghost doctor from Taodu, treats demons, not humans. She travels far and wide with the little monk Moya, treating demons along the way. Taoyao subdues a fox demon, who returns to its original form and starts over to save its own life. It becomes Moya's sidekick, the fox Gungun. The two of them and a fox, along with their old neighbor, the snake demon Master Liu, set off together. In a world overrun with demons, full of danger yet impossible to leave behind, they work wonders, treating all sorts of difficult ailments among the local demons and helping the humans around them with their troubles, too. The relationship between Taoyao, Moya, and Master Liu is never made explicit, and there are plenty more bizarre problems for us and this little team to explore and solve together.
