I Just Want to Be a Bandit

On a dark and windy night, a horse-drawn carriage made its way along a mountain path.

Faint glimmers of cold light flickered in the bushes on either side.

A deep male voice whispered, “Boss, that's the third son of Master Liu. He just got back from the capital.”

A clear female voice rang out. “Is he good-looking?”

“Good-looking, of course. I hear the third son is a famous beauty. Tsk, tsk, tsk.”

“Talk all you want, but don't drool.”

“Heh...” The man chuckled sheepishly.

“Hey, hey, Boss, he's about to pass us. Are we tying him up or not?”

“Obviously! Grab your weapons and get him!”

“Stone Lion, where are you going?”

“To mend the heavens.”

“Are you trying to get yourself killed?”

“I've lived long enough.”

“Didn't you say you just wanted to occupy a mountain in the Immortal Realm and keep being a bandit?”

“When I was a bandit in the mortal realm, I had no choice. There were severe droughts year after year, and we had no food. After occupying a mountain, I farmed and cleared the land, and spent several peaceful years cultivating it. Later... I wanted to find a mountain in the Immortal Realm so I could grow medicinal herbs, cultivate immortality, and make pills, and live as peacefully as I had during those years at Huacheng Stronghold. But now I can't grow immortal herbs or medicines...”

“You're not running away anymore?”

“No. I'm just a speck of dust in this vast universe. By chance, I fell into these three thousand worlds. Perhaps I'm the stone meant to mend the heavens, and it was only through a twist of fate that I was carved into a stone lion.”

“What if I took you to meet the Supreme God? What if I showed you who controls these three thousand worlds? Haven't you always wanted to know?”

The Stone Lion looked at him, its eyes bewildered and troubled. “Are you human, ghost, or immortal?”
