Love's Last Bloom

Fragrant Feelings Fade Away, also known as Heartache in Love In the early Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne. All seemed peaceful, but beneath the surface, undercurrents stirred. At court, the chancellor wielded power and formed cliques for personal gain, while beyond the borders, the Mongols watched like hungry wolves. The current crown prince, Zhu Yunwen, and Prince of Yan Zhu Di were rivals for the throne, and both were vying for the same woman! “Do you love me?” “Why did you lie to me? Why did you wipe out my family?” “No, you’re not him.” “I hope that in our next lives, you won’t be a prince, and I won’t be the chancellor’s daughter.” In the thirteenth year of Hongwu, the chancellor’s entire family was massacred. Only Hu Fangzhi and her fourth brother, Hu Chengkun, survived. Five years later, Hu Fangzhi married Mongol commander Wulihan and led a million Mongol cavalrymen to lay siege to the Ming imperial palace... I couldn’t bring myself to delete this, so I’m leaving it here as a memento! She, Hu Fangzhi: “There are irises by the Yuan and orchids by the Li; I think of you, my lord, but dare not speak.” He, Zhu Yunwen: “May you protect the four seas, your virtue the root of all good.” She, Ouyang Zichen: “Purple chrysanthemums bloom halfway, serene by the fence; red robes have fallen, and the lotuses on the islet grieve.” He, Zhu Di: “His thoughts are calm and composed; his bearing is noble and majestic.” During the Ming Dynasty, on the day of the grand autumn imperial examinations, Chancellor Hu Weiyong entered the palace with his family to celebrate. But Hu Fangzhi, his playful daughter, slipped away from the banquet and wandered into the imperial gardens. Little did she know that this one “escape” would change her life forever... In the thirteenth year of Hongwu, Chancellor Hu Weiyong was executed for abusing his power, forming cliques, lining his pockets, and threatening imperial authority. He was charged with “plotting rebellion.” The case implicated countless people, and nearly thirty thousand were executed over its course. This story is entirely fictional!!!
