Pine Nut on the Run

Through a twist of fate, Song Zi missed her chance with her first love. She waited quietly for ten years. People say a secret crush is a flower blooming in the dust. She could only think, the flower’s almost withered. Is it still worth waiting? When she meets her “moonlight” again, the one who makes her heart flutter, she grows timid and can only disguise herself with arrogance. In her “moonlight’s” eyes, she becomes a haughty, aloof peacock, misunderstood and judged. Under pressure from her family and society, she has to change from “good at studying” to “good at getting married.” Faced with a suitable blind-date candidate, she seems to have no choice but to obey fate while quietly protecting her “moonlight.” Unexpected turns in life shake the values she once held unquestioningly. She chooses to give up her “moonlight” and her career, fleeing the suffocating fortress that has become her life. “Song Zi has experienced the feeling of her heart fluttering so rarely that she remembers it all the more vividly. Like a child with no candy who happens upon a single piece, carefully tucking it into a pocket to take out and look at whenever a craving strikes. The words on the wrapper are etched into her memory, but she never has the courage to open it and taste the candy. Eventually, it expires.”
