The Tomb of Generals and Ministers

In the 16th year of Qinghe, General Liu Nan, the only son of the Liu family of Daning, was killed in a conspiracy. In the 24th year of Qinghe, his daughter Liu Ruo was granted the title of Commandery Princess of Qinghe. That same year, she entered the palace to serve as study companion to Crown Prince Jiang Xianyu, remaining by his side for decades. As fate would have it, she followed Jiang Xianyu onto the battlefield, becoming his friend and family. Zeng Luocheng, heir to the Qingyang estate, entered the palace to serve as the Crown Prince’s study companion because of his family’s vendetta. There, he met Liu Ruo. After enduring their families’ hatred together, the two formed a deep bond. Princess Jiang Li of Linxia came to the capital for a political marriage. Her brother, Bei Ye, was deeply moved by Liu Ruo and fell in love with her, eventually leaving the country for her sake. Jiang Li schemed to turn Liu Ruo and Zeng Luocheng against each other, then married Zeng Luocheng. With their country fallen and their families destroyed, Liu Ruo was forced to flee with her young daughter, plunging into the river as they escaped. When Jiang Li learned that Liu Ruo and her daughter had survived, she secretly brought them into the palace.
