Dear Landlord

Shen Hongti, a chubby young woman from Huanhe Street, has hit one dead end after another in her job search. Then an unexpected encounter makes her the caretaker of an old estate on the outskirts of town. Behind its vermilion gates, the blue-tiled roofs and white walls conceal an elegant layout, as well as a forbidden back courtyard no one may approach. The unseen owner has set strict rules, leaving her alone to look after the vast estate.

An unfamiliar, luxurious home, a mysterious master, secrets in the forbidden courtyard, and a quiet companionship that grows with each passing day. As her clumsy sincerity meets the estate’s warmth and reserve, a bond that began with her work as caretaker slowly unfolds amid green bamboo and flowering crabapple trees.
