Healing My Heart

Shen Yuan said that life was like a game of strategy: bet right and you win; bet wrong and you lose for the rest of your life. Life was even more like surgery that could mean the difference between life and death. If you didn’t go into the operating room, you died; if you did, you still weren’t guaranteed to survive. Someone furrowed his brow. “If it were you, what would you choose?” Shen Yuan smiled with acceptance. “One thought can mean life or death. Well, that depends on the balance between the light and dark within your heart.” The man’s handsome face turned cold. “The balance between light and dark? What do you mean?” Shen Yuan looked him seriously in the eyes. “Because the odds of meeting you were just like the odds of my choosing whether or not to have surgery. You strengthened the sunny side of me and drove away my dark side, so I went through with the operation, won the chance to live, and made the right bet by meeting you.” At her words, he froze. His icy aura softened, and he affectionately ruffled her hair. “Silly girl, we both won.”
