Their greed for power triggered wars of all sizes and opened the prelude to the civil war. The long-term war has stretched the forces of all parties. The civil war lasted for thirteen years, and finally the eight princes divided the land and established themselves as kings. Later historians called it the Eight Kingdoms Rebellion.
