Seeking the Dao at Emei

Mount Emei is serene and beautiful. Seen from afar, its peaks appear a deep shade of green, but the scenery changes up close. Countless smaller peaks link the three tallest ones, clustered together like gathered mountains. Their overlapping ridges make the landscape seem all the more secluded, treacherous, and rugged.

Deep mountains and broad marshes have always been home to dragons and serpents, while tigers, leopards, jackals, and wolves often lurk in dense forests and secluded valleys. Mount Emei is no exception. Only one ancient trail through the mountain is passable to travelers.
