Self-review of "History of Assassins"
Writing martial arts novels has always been my dream. When you reach middle age, if you don't do some things, you will never do them again. I have always liked novels that combine history with martial arts. I grew up watching Jin Yong and was extremely envious of Jin Yong's level of Chinese studies. When I tried to write, I realized that my writing skills and knowledge were insufficient. I only regretted that I had read too few books. The first Feixue Swordsmanship was conceived in 2017. I wrote an outline, but haven't started writing yet. Then I started writing in 2018. But because I haven't written for ten years, my writing style is a bit bald, and it took me a while to find my own rhythm. I admit it myself, the writing style of Feixue Swordsmanship is a bit stiff, and the transitions in the text are not well connected. But the story has enough tension and twists and turns, and is worth savoring. When it came to the second part, Mystery of the False Emperor, my writing was obviously much smoother. But when I was writing the second part, I was very ambitious and wanted to try to reach the goal of 500,000 words. Therefore, there are many characters and a huge structure. I feel that it is somewhat lacking in refinement when written down. However, I think the story of the second part "The Suspicion of the False Emperor" is still there. And I tried to combine some events in the early Ming Dynasty with Jin Yong's characters into my novel. I dare not say there is any innovation, but readers who understand these two points should have a knowing smile.
