Flowers Bloom and Fade, Fate Begins and Ends

In Chang’an’s bustling West Market stands a quiet little sachet shop. It rarely gets any business, and the shopkeeper Mi Xiang keeps it afloat with the money she wins gambling.

Mi Xiang is a fascinating woman. In what way? First, her sachets are said to help people fulfill their dreams, but only in exchange for a wisp of their soul. Second, she never seems to age, staying young forever, though she is, in fact, soulless.

There is a great secret in the sachet shop. None of the shop assistants knows what it is. They only know that besides the two assistants and the shopkeeper, there is a fourth person in the shop. They have never seen this person, though. That person is the great secret.
