Pity the Radiant

In the wilderness, a lonely grave lies among the cogongrass. A handful of earth, with no known resting place. A few warnings: 1. The female lead is a wronged spirit, with no chance of coming back to life. 2. Parts of the plot are a bit far-fetched, so please bear with me. 3. This is a very short story, no more than 20,000 words. 4. This is entirely made up in a fictional setting, so please don't scrutinize the details.
