The Legend of the Tusi Chieftain's Third Lady

Outline: At the beginning of the Ming dynasty's rule over the realm, native chieftainships were established to administer the frontier tribes. In western Hubei, on the Ming frontier, a chieftainship was established and the tribal people governed themselves. The newly established Zhonglu Chieftainship, under the western Hubei chieftainship district, built the Qin family's chieftain city. A story of internal and external crises within a chieftainship unfolds on the western Hubei frontier. Internally, the struggle for the right to inherit the chieftainship becomes fierce! Externally, the expedition against Chongqing faces an uncertain future. The chieftain's wife, Tian, of a prominent family, had two sons. One, Qin Xiaozhao, practiced martial arts and won victories in foreign campaigns; the other, Qin Xiaofu, studied literature and gained the right to succeed through internal struggle. After a series of arduous, desperate, and perilous contests, they sought to secure the hereditary title and territory internally, and conquer Chongqing externally. The second wife, Nian Tian, finally helped the young Qin Xiaofu secure his position as chieftain. Once everything had been pacified, the two half-sisters, both daughters of the same father, began a new struggle. In the end, through the mediation of Shi Xiyao, a remarkable woman descended from an extraordinary Miao physician and the chieftain's third wife, the two wives finally put aside their grievances and devoted themselves to developing the ethnic frontier.
