The Great Sui Investiture of the Gods

The Great Dao has fifty paths, but Heaven derives only forty-nine, leaving one unaccounted for.

An ancient saying tells that this missing path is the chance to transcend. Thus, ever since cultivators first appeared, the great systems of cultivation have pursued it tirelessly...

The Supreme One founded the Immortal Dao, whose practitioners are ethereal and enjoy eternal life.

Amitabha founded the Buddhist Dao. They regard the mortal world as a sea of suffering, and cultivate golden bodies to ferry souls across it.

Confucius founded the Confucian Dao. They nurture a breath of righteous energy and become sages of their age.

Besides these, the paths of demons, martial arts, monsters, ghosts, and more all vie for splendor beneath the heavens.

The missing path grows ever stronger, while the forty-nine paths derived by Heaven can no longer keep pace with the changing times.

So I have come to this world to establish the Divine Dao, set its order, and lay down the will of Heaven.
