East Meets West

In his life, Lie Xi loved only two women: his mother, who left him, and Chu Haojia, who hated him to the bone. Chu Haojia hated him. She hated him so much that, again and again, she lost her dignity, the people she loved, and herself for his sake, until in the end she became him. Or perhaps Chu Haojia loved Lie Xi even more. Even knowing that Lie Xi was the devil at the heart of the whole story, Chu Haojia was willing to make a deal with the devil. “I don’t want a better life. I want a life with you in it.” This is a story of love, jealousy, revenge, and redemption. We are ruled by our emotions and controlled by our feelings, only to find ourselves, in the end, by peeling away layer after layer of fog. Updated nightly at 8–9 p.m.
