The Beloved Legitimate Consort Returns

Xie Yuanyuan, the legitimate eldest daughter of the Shangshu Manor’s main branch, was bestowed by imperial decree as the Third Prince’s consort. She and the prince had been childhood sweethearts, and she had repeatedly taken blades for her fiancé, the Third Prince, nearly losing her life.

She thought the Third Prince would be her lifelong partner, only for him to turn around and fall in love with her cousin, her closest friend. The two betrayed her together, even poisoning her and making her act disgracefully in front of everyone at the spring flower-viewing banquet with the Fourth Prince, ruining her reputation.

Rumors cut like knives, each one deadly. Overnight, she became a woman everyone called wanton. It seemed the rumors would never end unless she died.

Desperate to clear her name, she could only make a scene. With no one to help her, she was locked away in a nunnery and tortured. On the day of the Third Prince’s wedding to her cousin, she escaped.

When they failed to get the confession they wanted, they sent men to violate her instead. She collapsed in the snow and was buried beneath it in utter despair.

Given another chance, she awoke at the flower-viewing banquet. The scenes of the past were vivid before her eyes, and she would never let that tragedy happen again.

This time, she accepted the decree betrothing her to the Fourth Prince.
