A Beloved Life in the Qing Palace

On their wedding night, Su Ya said to Fulin, “We can't stand each other, so why don't we be a couple in name only?” When Fulin wanted to visit her at Kunning Palace, Su Ya said, “Why are you coming over? One more person means one more bowl and chopsticks, and that's too much trouble. Don't come!” When Fulin wanted to see her, Su Ya said again, “There are so many ladies in the palace lining up to see you. Why are you looking for me?!” At last, he lost his temper! He stormed into Kunning Palace and pulled her into his arms. “You are the only one I will ever love and cherish.” Su Ya was bewildered. Hadn't they agreed that Fulin would love and cherish only Dong'e Fei for the rest of his life? But her surname wasn't Dong'e! Fulin insisted again, “It's you. Only you. It has always been you.” (Book club group: 551326159)
