The Princess Consort's Grand Strategy

She is the legitimate daughter of the Marquis of Zhenbei, and his only child.

In public, she is a spoiled, flamboyant, carefree wastrel who has never studied a day in her life. Her loving mother and doting father have left her with no sense of her own limits.

In private... she is exactly the same.

A twist of fate leads to her punishment and her mother's misfortune, leaving the Nangong family with no hope of an heir.

She thought Heaven had dealt her this blow to punish her for her reckless ways. Who could have guessed that it was all part of a sinister plot born of treachery? If so, what does it matter if she becomes a demon, turning the world upside down to bring peace to the dead and happiness to the living?

[In her own words]:

At first, I was a spoiled and reckless wastrel. I thought my family's protection would let me do whatever I wanted without fear. But when the night sky, lit up by fireworks, rang with the nine tolls of the funeral bell, the Nangong family began to crumble. The path I would walk from then on was destined to be bloody and grim. Yet I still wanted to believe: to believe in truth, in beauty, and in the people I chose. This is her, Nangong Huang.

I went to war at twelve. Every victory I won was built from blood and flesh, from life and death. I could devise a strategy and win a battle from a thousand miles away. But in the end, I could not overcome the darkness, deceit, suspicion, and discord in people's hearts. If a smile is not a smile, and a cry is not a cry, if what we see is not necessarily the truth, then what use are these eyes? And yet, now I want to see. I want to see you. This is him, Ji Yunshen.
