Ten Years in a Dream

She broke into my life in 2008, exploding all kinds of splendor into my life like fireworks in the sky. She lived a free and unrestrained life but was stubborn and unchanging in her feelings. I thought she would accompany me through my youth, into middle age, and grow old hand in hand, but when she chose to leave, I suddenly realized that the relationship I had been in for ten years looked like a dream when I looked back. It came as suddenly as it came and left so decisively.
