Drunken Grace

Plays often tell of fair maidens sought night and day, and nine times out of ten, they end with a happy marriage that lasts a lifetime.

Yet Ye Panxiang says that matters of the heart have rarely gone as hoped since ancient times. She bears an unspeakable mission, leaving her home behind, hiding her name, and living within other people’s stories, as a mere hint of things to come.

She walks the bitter road whose end she can already see, her heart as still as water. But she never expected that withered flowers in the old marsh could sprout into a shy, awkward love. With secret affection blossoming into mutual devotion, she finds it both embarrassing and enchanting. She loses herself in it, unable to pull away, unaware that she has already fallen into someone else’s trap.

The road ahead is long and arduous; I will seek far and wide.

“Ordinary” may sound simple, but living such a life is anything but.

PS: An angsty story focused on everyday life, set in an alternate world.
