The Lady Sovereign of Donglin

That year, she stood alone at the pinnacle of power. The handsome, extraordinary man walked in from outside the palace hall. “I pay my respects to Your Highness, the Eldest Princess. Your humble servant is Nangong Junjue.”

That year, with enemy troops at the gates, she stood atop the city wall. He knelt before her, one hand over his heart. “To die in battle for you is the highest honor I could ever have.”

That night, he personally stripped her of all her martial arts. “Donglin Rou, so all these years we spent by each other’s side were nothing but a means to an end.”

She vanished from his sight for two whole years.

Nangong Junjue was once the person Donglin Rou trusted most, and even now, he still is.

When they first met, they were just little children.

When they met again, he was the Crown Prince of Qi.

He said, “Donglin Rou, you are not allowed to push me away.”

Perhaps this life was destined to be shackled by power, leaving her with nothing but scars.
