The Wicked Wife's Reign

Gu Heng thought Mu Tinglan was a cunning fox and a sharp-clawed cat, always scheming against people and utterly ruthless when it came to teaching them a lesson. But why did that ruthlessness look more and more pleasing to him, and feel more and more right? Before long, their initial game of using each other had turned into a dance of pursuit and counter-pursuit. Scene One: “Miss, you shouldn't have let Fourth Miss off so easily. She pushed you into the pond before.” Someone smiled. “She's my sister. There's no rush.” Soon after, Fourth Miss slipped and fell into the pond, swallowing several mouthfuls of water laced with yellow soup. Scene Two: “Lord Gu, what are you doing?” Mu Tinglan held both hands to her chest, shielding herself. The man who had snuck into her boudoir at night awkwardly looked away, his ears red as if they might drip blood. “I heard the princess had an accident. For the sake of our partnership, naturally I came to see if you were still in one piece.” “In one piece? I only fell into the river. Did you think I might have lost an arm or a leg? Do you even know how to talk to people?” Scene Three: “Lord Gu, what are you doing?” “I heard the princess was hurt, so I came to see you.” Mu Tinglan's gaze fell to his chin. “If you came to see me, why are you holding me, Lord Gu?” Lord Gu... “Well, I'm looking.”
