<Narrative Synopsis>
FBI officer Luo Shu died in the line of duty after cracking a smuggling case. When she awoke, she had transmigrated into the youngest daughter of a border general in Yunzhou. But when luck turns against you, even drinking water can make you choke. On the very day she transmigrated, a traitor opened the city gates and the barbarians stormed in. She watched a massacre unfold as her entire family was hacked to death. Facing heaps of bones in the wilderness and a raging sea of fire, she swore she would clear the Luo family’s name. But as she pieced together the clues, she uncovered a secret of the Great Xia Dynasty.
And so, the world gained a young man named Luo Shu.
After three years of hard study, he placed first in the palace examination. An imperial decree appointed the newly crowned top scholar, Luo Shu, as prefect of Shuntian Prefecture.
At the foot of the throne, where even a falling leaf might hit a member of the imperial family, and where even the least influential person could be a department-level official, the tangled connections were enough to make your head spin. It was a cutthroat post, like a political version of The Golden Branch, set over a roasting fire.
She could keep an eye on those around her, but not those above her. She could watch those above her, but not the demon who was always spying on her while she used the toilet.
This was a post that looked glorious but was actually bleak, unloved by both parents and relatives, and shunned by every official in court: the magistrate of the capital.
This is an inspirational story about climbing the career ladder in ancient times.
This is a contest of wits between the martial world and the imperial court.
This is a story about a big bad wolf and another big bad wolf pretending to be a little lamb.
<Plot Synopsis>
A little scene: Testing the waters, Ye Chen: “Lord Luo, off to use the toilet? What a coincidence, I’m going too. We can go together.”
Luo Shu stared blankly, clutching her stomach and muttering inwardly. Judging by how much this guy enjoyed going to the toilet alongside his subordinates, he was probably a bottom...
“Oh, Lord Luo, why do you look so pale today? Is it because you’ve spent the long night without anyone to keep you warm? A man needs a woman, after all. I’ll send you a few beauties.”
The handsome, bewitching man clapped his hands, and several burly, hideous-looking... beauties immediately appeared behind him.
Luo Shu stared blankly again as several beauties, dressed in red and green, emerged behind the man. They were even uglier and more muscular than men. She could almost hear ten thousand mythical beasts stampeding over her head.
“How kind of you, Your Highness. Your taste is truly sharp and powerful, outrageous and against all reason. Since they’re such peerless beauties, how could a humble official like me dare compete with you? You’d better keep them to warm your own bed.”
With that, she fled, covering her head.
A little scene: Spying, Ye Chen: “Oh, Lord Luo, why do you sit down when you use the toilet? What’s this? Why is the sash so long? And why don’t you have any hair on your legs...?”
Luo Shu finally snapped. She grabbed the man dressed in red and green and dragged him into an alley, where she assaulted him.
“I’ll teach you to spy on me! I’ll teach you to sneak a peek while I’m on the toilet! I’ll teach you to toss bugs into my bathwater! I’ll teach you to flirt with me! If I don’t beat you until you’re black and blue, down and out, and bleeding all over, then I don’t deserve my title as the capital’s magistrate, protector of the people and scourge of evil...”
