Loving You Is Fate

She was a woman blessed by the Three Graces: alluring, elegant, and beautiful. Unfortunately, she was cold-hearted and unfeeling.

He had a stunning face and a respectable, steady demeanor, but was wild beneath it all. Unfortunately, he had an affliction.

That night, they were alone in a room together. With bold, blunt confidence, she said, “Handsome, how about posing for me as a nude model?”

“I came to get the painting,” he reminded her.

She lit a cigarette with a snap and took a long drag. Then she moved closer, slowly blowing rings of smoke onto his sharply defined face. “So you don't want to?”

When he refused, An Xihan used special means to fulfill the long-suppressed desire she had harbored all along.

…

Who would end up in whose clutches? Hard to say.

Their first kiss.

He said, “Aren't you always proud of being carefree and uninhibited? It's just a kiss. Surely you're not going to make a big deal of it?”

An Xihan wiped her mouth, her tone stubborn and reckless. “Of course not. These lips of mine have kissed dogs, cats, penguins, and dolphins. Kissing a living, breathing person isn't a big deal!”

…

It seemed the heavens weren't particularly kind to them. One trouble after another came flying their way.

When she emerged from the intensive care unit, she felt utterly disheartened for the first time. “Hua Junheng, why did you have to be so cruel to him?”

“Why?” He gave a wicked smile and gripped her chin in his large hand. “Then let me ask you: why isn't the child mine? An Xihan, you made my life miserable, so don't expect to get off easy yourself! Even if I have to bind you with a chain forged in blood, I'll drag you into the deepest pit of hell and make sure you can never escape!”

An Xihan looked straight at him. “My hand was ruined because of you, too. We're even.”

His eyes narrowed dangerously. “I saved your life. As long as you're alive in this world, you'll never be able to repay me.”

…

He was the person she hated most in the world, and also the person she loved most.

Only he could make her smile through her tears.
