Walking the Path of Immortality Among Mortals

Xu Mengfan said, “I was born a mortal, yet you called me an immortal chosen by fate. I cultivated my way to immortality, and then you said I was meant to be no more than a mortal. But what does it matter whether I’m immortal or mortal? What does it matter if I’m reduced to ashes? Every step that brought me here was my own choice. If I wish to become an immortal, let heaven and earth be destroyed: my resolve will not waver! If I wish to remain mortal, let me live an ordinary life: my heart is content!”
