Red Blossoms Weep with Fragrant Dew

A mysterious organization that has thrived in this world since ancient times is led by guardians of different identities, generation after generation. Together, they protect the Xuanji Jade, a mission each of them is destined to accept from the moment they are born.

The Xuanji Jade looks no different from any other piece of jade, yet it possesses tremendous power. Legend has it that it can move mountains and seas, create the heavens and earth, grant eternal life, and even transcend time and space...

To be reborn amid raging storms and spread one’s wings in the flames: this is the unique mark of every generation of guardians. A guardian might be an emperor, a minister, an ordinary citizen, or even a beggar. Their identities may differ, but throughout their lives they bear one inescapable responsibility: the Xuanji Jade.

This is the first story in the Xuanji series, the transmigration arc: a journey to the Qing dynasty.

This is a different kind of Qing dynasty transmigration story. There is little palace intrigue and more science fiction, along with some martial arts and, of course, romance. If that’s not your thing, please move along.

Sisters Shi Zhenluo and Shi Yiluo are orphans adopted by the scientist Shi Jieren. The younger sister, Shi Yiluo, takes a time machine to the past on a whim. To find her, her older sister Shi Zhenluo has no choice but to follow her to the Qing dynasty. She transmigrates into the body of Niohuru Ximin, who is in the middle of running away from home, and soon finds herself in all kinds of trouble.

Just as she finally makes it back to the Niohuru family, the Eighth Prince confronts her with a pointed question. Then come an inexplicable betrothal, a sudden assassination attempt, one test after another, the Fifth Prince’s seemingly heartless breakup, a piece of jade on the Ninth Prince that matches her own, Kangxi’s strange attitude, and Niohuru Ximin’s complicated background.

After one upheaval after another, she discovers that the jade on her is not an invention of her adoptive father’s, as he claimed. It is the Xuanji Jade, the very thing that caused her family’s ruin. And behind it lies a mysterious organization with an enormous network...
