A Warm Marriage: The CEO's Actress Wife

People often say that Yu Ruxi came from a fallen family and had no one left. Even her childhood sweetheart and fiancé abandoned her to marry someone else. Yet she still became a movie queen, they say, not through her acting, but thanks to Shan Renshuo behind her. Shan Renshuo, the mysterious head of the Shan Group, was aloof and cold toward outsiders, but fiercely protective and indulgent toward his own. He didn’t care about reason. She wanted fame, and he paved the way. She wanted revenge, and he handed her the blade. In short, whatever she wanted, he gave her. If he had it, it was hers. If he didn’t, he’d take it and give it to her. When they first met, she had just woken from a coma. She saw him sitting beside her bed, his features and expression cold, even his presence cold, like the very embodiment of death. She smiled and closed her eyes. He said, “Woman, from the moment I pulled you out of the sea, your life and your revenge became my responsibility.” She abruptly opened her eyes and stared straight at him, unable to accept the blow of having failed to die. “I never cried and begged you to save me,” she replied. Having fallen from heaven, she felt even more hopeless than she had when she jumped into the sea. She truly didn’t want to live. “I’m not asking your opinion.” He smiled faintly, his charm edged with elegance. Was there no justice in the world? She’d never met a man so overbearing and unreasonable. Speechless, she appealed to the heavens, then promptly fainted. He kept his promise, and she became a movie queen. Everyone said she’d risen to fame by relying on him. He smiled faintly. “If my wife doesn’t rely on me, who should she rely on, you random nobodies?” For a long time afterward, the two of them played a game of cat and mouse. He had his clever plans, and she had her ways of slipping past the wall. They got better and better at going in circles. More than once, she wondered what sins she’d committed in a past life to end up with him clinging to her in this one, dragging her into endless trouble. (This is a one-on-one romance. There’s a little angst at first, followed by doting, doting, and more doting, to the extreme.)
