The Cold Prince's Carefree Heavenly Consort

She is the useless princess of the Southern Phoenix Kingdom, someone everyone can bully, forever humble and downtrodden. He is the most noble of the Seventh Princes of the four kingdoms, admired by all.

Though no one gives her a second glance, the honored Seventh Prince takes her as his bride, making women across the land envious.

As time passes after the wedding, she falls in love with him. She vows that from then on, she will help him win the throne, wager her youth for his sake, and says, “Ten miles of spring breeze cannot compare to him.” Two years later, she bears him a son, and he excitedly orders the whole kingdom to celebrate. The streets throughout the Southern Xi Kingdom are decked with lanterns and decorations, and red silk hangs all over the prince’s residence. The whole place is filled with joy.

Who could have known that she would walk into the main hall, pull out a divorce agreement in front of everyone, and say, “Your Highness, I want to divorce you.”

The Seventh Prince stares at her in shock. “Dare you say that to me one more time?” Everyone looks nervously at the Seventh Princess, afraid that her words will anger the cold-faced demon and bring trouble down on them all.

But she calmly clears her throat and says, “There’s no need to ask again, Your Highness. I’ll say it only once: sign it!”

The story goes that the Seventh Prince and this useless princess had only been putting on an act. When she found out, her dreams shattered, and her love came to nothing. She had always wanted a carefree life, after all. Why would she care about love?

Later, the Seventh Prince rules over all beneath heaven and is crowned emperor, but his harem remains empty.

People no longer speak of the Seventh Princess, once hailed as an extraordinary woman. They only whisper that the Seventh Prince loved one woman deeply all his life, but she refused to be his wife, leaving him alone. Others say his heart belonged to a peerlessly beautiful woman, for whom he once made red rain fall from the sky and even turned against the whole world. Sadly, she died young, and with her death, the Seventh Prince’s heart died too.
