Transmigrating to Become a Clever Farmer's Daughter and Chef

Ouyang Xue, a modern-day chef, transmigrates into the body of Shan Yanling, a pretty married woman in ancient times. Her household includes a handsome husband who is equally at home entertaining guests and cooking in the kitchen. Her mother-in-law is domineering and loves to pick fights, and even resents having given birth to a daughter, whom she considers a financial burden. Her father-in-law is handsome and dashing, and even in his old age he wants to take a beautiful young woman as a concubine. Her younger brother and sister-in-law only pretend to be honest, and after having a son they grow smug and forget their roots. She is as tenacious as a cockroach that refuses to die. She fixes things here and there, and a good life lies ahead. Watch her lead the whole family toward happiness. (This story focuses on food: authentic country cooking, made with your own hands for a life of plenty.) Here is a delicious cooking tip: Stir-fry the pig intestines over high heat after washing them several times with salt and wine. Leave a little oil in the pan, then gently fry minced scallion and ginger until fragrant. Once they have cooked for a while, add dried red chilies and Sichuan peppercorns, and fry until aromatic. Then add sugar, dark soy sauce, and light soy sauce in that order. Stir quickly to combine, then plate and serve.
