Lead Me into Darkness

She is an ugly woman of mixed demon and divine blood, with both spiritual energy and baleful energy within her. As her baleful energy grows, it turns half her face black and half yellow. To keep the poison of demonic corruption from consuming her and turning her into a demon, she sets out on the path of immortal cultivation.

He fell from immortality into demonic ways and lives on blood. He stands beyond the Six Realms, outside the Five Elements, without love or desire. He approaches her only to seize the divine treasure, Heaven-Opening, so that one day he can trample the Six Realms beneath his feet.

Her scarlet eyes blaze with murderous intent. Watching his cold, retreating figure, she says each word with deliberate force:

“If you abandon me again, I'll turn you into a demon!”

He answers coldly, just as resolute:

“I never loved you!” Those eight words rip apart all the feelings in her heart.

This is a romantic xianxia novel about the struggle among gods, demons, spirits, and immortals. It's a fairly light read with a colorful story and ordinary prose. Several friends have said they want to keep reading, and it's the kind of book that's easy to get through. Some of the treasure and spell names are taken from the online game Legend of Mir, a tribute to the days when I used to play it.
