Hand in Hand, Asking of the Years

[Jinshuxuan] Making you fall in love with the fragrance of words.

They say an unparalleled physician lives on a celestial island, so Su Yanglin set out on a long journey to find them. Even the slightest hope is enough to keep her going. For the only family she has left in this world, no matter how hard the road becomes, she will press on.

Mo Cheng, the young man who travels alongside her, smiles through every hardship. But fourteen years later, as he passes through his hometown, even his calm expression finally crumbles. He cannot come to terms with being called a monster, a demon. He cannot forgive himself for his differences, which led to his mother's death, or his father, who has never looked at him since.

Only after arriving here does Yanglin realize that the person she has been searching for all along was so close to her, so very close. She had thought that after everything they had been through, the two of them could be completely honest with each other. But that was only what she told herself. She thought they could disregard worldly conventions, yet in the end, the bond they had built by depending on each other had left them standing on opposite sides, with no way to bridge the distance.

Their story is as heartbreaking as the lives they encountered along the way, struggling to survive in this world. Human nature struggles and blooms like a flower, only to wither.

In this world, so many people hold on and keep reaching for what they believe is worth living for. There is the money-loving girl Mujin, and a selfish yet lonely old woman. From youth to old age, every one of them is misunderstood, discriminated against, and even rejected by the world, yet they all strive to live, each in her own way.

Someone once said that we are all ordinary people among the teeming masses, and that to meet and come to know one another is fate.

Perhaps you will never become a peerless beauty who could topple kingdoms, nor an emperor who can command the clouds and rain. You are simply an ordinary person walking quietly through these years, letting time's wheels roll over them one by one in your own way.

From now on, I will take your hand and keep walking, as steadfastly as I did at the beginning. Sometimes I'll look back at the road we've traveled, and when I remember it, those years will be like a song.
